Gifts & Favors

Last December, I was asked to put together some gifts that showcased items purchased from the dollar store, and then embellished to make a cute gift.  These items were easy, and ALL from the dollar store.
They were raffled off the evening of the showing.

Many of you have asked to see these again, so here they are:

$1 Wooden frame, added some ribbon, 2 buttons, cut out paper, and printed text.

2-pack $1 head bands, one bunch of fake flowers, with stems cut off, hot glued on bands.

$1 Onesie from baby section, Felt Flowers, and beads sewn onto the onesie to add a little flair.

$1 wooden frame, $1 bunch Christmas flowers picked apart, some gold ribbon hot glued on for a Christmas frame/gift
** My Favorite: This is a $1 cloth placemat, folded and sewn at the edges.  Flower from $1 bunch hot glued on, holes made at top (eyelets were from my own collection but could still be made w/out them), and ribbon tied in knots in back.  It makes the cutest greeting card holder, or file folder hanger, or whatever you want it to be.

These are $1 chip clips.  All I did was cute out or punch out cute paper shapes and glued them on top.  No longer for chips, but to hold any papers, notes, stationery, etc.

Who doesn't like a decorative box of tissues in their house?  This is a tissue cover that can be used over and over again.  $1 box of tissues.  Pretty decorative paper and ribbon.  Trick is just folding the paper and cutting a hole at top for tissue outlet.  I also mod podged this to give it durability.  Just lift off tissue box and replace with a new box.

Another favorite!  Well, it's actually now my daughter's favorite.  This is a $1 clip board that I decorated in cute, fun paper, both front and back.  Sticker alphabet for her name, and a bunch of short length colored ribbon to tie at the top.  I again mod podged this (front and back) so the paper will not fray or get ruined.
$1 8-pack of Reeses Peanut butter cups.  All I did was decorate with cut paper.  Fold around the edges, tie a little tag.  The treat slides in and out of the paper so you can use it again to re-gift.  :)

Christmas tree of lolli pops!  $1 styrofoam cone, $1 bag of dum dum pops.  Just stick them all through the styrofoam.  You may have to trim the ends of the dum dum stick a bit as you get towards the top.
I like this one too!  WAY simple!  $1 glass square container.  Just wrapped some ribbon around it and stuck a fake flower (from $1 bunch of flowers).  Hot glued it together . $1 package of Q-tips.  Pretty little Q-tip holder for your bathroom counter.

Too easy!  $1 Glass round dish, wrapped in Christmas decorative ribbon, thin gold cord/ribbon.  Fill with whatever candy or snack you'd like.  I put nuts in it so I could take the photo, but it looks best with red and white swirled peppermint candies.

Happy Birthday Brynnlea!
