My sweet Dad

If you know my dad at all, you'll know that he had a gentle way with animals.  You'll also know how much he loved raising his chickens.  He literally had PET chickens, with names, that, as you can see from the picture, would jump up on his leg and eat a softened potatoe out of his hand.
This is a drawing and gift I made for him last month.  I wrote a sentimental message for him and framed it.

Painted name canvas

I recently went out of my comfort zone and made this name painting for a friend's baby.  She has designed his nursery centered around "happy little monsters".  This was a bit wild, and not my usual style.  But... I will admit that I had fun painting it.  I drew the letters to the name first, then proceeded to draw miscellaneous monsters, trees, designs....  The time consuming part was the painting of the bright colors.

Just for fun!

My Stampin Up! friends may recognize this little owl, originally made from paper punches (see below).  I love this guy, so he inspired me to do this picture, which I will frame and post on my Etsy shop.  Isn't he cute?  And, thanks Beverlee!

My previous monster project (above post) got me onto a monster kick.  This was just a quick little thing I did one night.  Crazy easy.  Cut oval out of green lined paper, 3 circles of white (for eye balls), 3 small circles for black eyes, a heart punch cut in half for the feet, and drew the legs, the smile and the lettering.  EASY and cute!

FYI

Just FYI, in case you didn't know,  up above, right underneath the title "The Artist In Me", I have created page tabs which allow you to visit a separate page connected to my blog.  These pages show the various projects I've completed.  Move your curser on them and they will be highlighted in purple.
             The page tabs are:     Home
                                               Cards, Invitations, and more
                                               Wood crafts
                                               Paintings
                                               Drawings
                                        and Contact/Order Information

So, instead of finding all my pictures here on my home page, you can check them out by category.  (I will try, however, to post the newest projects here first before moving them to their appropriate category later.)

Keep watching  for new projects.  Thanks for checking out my blog!

Have a fun, creative day!

A Boy baby shower!

I recently had the pleasure of making 120 miniature candy bar favors for a baby shower.  An invitation was given to me so I could match the colors and the theme (blue, green, and little turtles).  How fun is that?

Here is the final result.  (Click on the pictures for a close-up view).

A New Beginning

Well, here it is:  The very beginning of what I hope to be a great journey ahead.  A vision I've had for a while now.  On this blog I hope to share my creations and talents with others.  I want to give ideas and help bring out the artist within each of you.  I also hope to use my talents to fulfill your needs, whether it's making thank you cards to have on hand,  baby shower decorations, painting a mural in your child's room, drawings, framed art, etc...  I hope to branch out and improve my skills as I go, and in the meantime, I aim to please your creative needs.

                                                                                       This is my endeavor.
I dedicate it to my dad.

Baby Shower

These are photos from a baby shower I hosted for a friend.  It was fun to work with pink, brown and yellow, as well as the flowers.  I don't know who enjoyed this the most-- me, working on all of it, or my friend who was the guest of honor.
